Too Faced's Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer is such a fantastic change from the usual clear primers I've used.  This one has a slight tint to it, which fades right into skin and because of the slight color really wakes up the complexion.  I love the way feels (so smooth) and am especially impressed with how it makes my foundation work (completely hid all those nasty blackheads on my nose).  I also love that I can use it alone and still have a bit of coverage (really not much color when used alone, but definitely woke up my skin).  A great product and one that's always been under my radar for far too long.  On the pricey side at $30.00 but worth it!  Seriously, I've dropped $30.00 quickly in a lot of unnecessary ways, so at least this one makes my face look great.

The Only Part Of Me I Like To Be Naked - My Eyes!

 

I was at Sephora this past weekend and HAD to have the Naked Eye palette by Too Faced.  Okay, fine, I probably should've held myself back but it's so damn cute!  You open up the adorable pink box and inside are 9 gorgeous, totally-wearable eye shadows and liners.  It also has these cards which help you to build your perfect "naked eye" depending on whether it's day or night.  I love all the colors and even used Pink Cheeks as a highlighter for my cheekbones - stunning!  Definitely worth a drive to Sephora, or heck, save your gas and go online.  I had forgotten how much I love Too Faced!  How did I let myself forget??  Palette retails for $35.00.

Dress In Layers

I totally want to try this new Too Faced Mascara Layering Kit.  For $19.50, you get a Lash Injection in Black and a mini Lash Injection Pinpoint in Black so you can mix and match them however you want.  (I want to try layering them on my top lashes and using just the Pinpoint on my lower ones).  I also love mini mascara tubes - they're so much easier to travel with than big ones and the more I can accumulate (especially since it's basically like getting it for free at that price) the better.  You can buy yours online only at Sephora.com.

Lock It Down

I was oddly really against cream shadows for awhile there, although I honestly can't remember why.  (Maybe because I'm so uncoordinated, I thought I wouldn't be able to apply them nicely?  That's definitely a possibility!)  But first I tried Urban Decay's Cream Shadows and liked them, and now I've discovered that I feel the same way about Too Faced's LOCKDOWN Ultimate Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow.  They go on easily and while they dry quickly, there's a brief moment where I can still fix the color if I smudge it (which definitely makes the cream shadow more appealing to me).  The LOCKDOWN shades have deep metallic pigments which makes the color rich and less likely to blend into the background, and they come with their Shadow Insurance's anti-crease base, so it's almost like wearing a primer underneath them without having to do the extra step.  The thing that I really like about these cream shadows though is that they stay on forever.  The color doesn't move over the course of the day and I didn't notice it creasing until I'd had it on for 17 plus hours.  (It was a LONNNG day at work.  If it hadn't creased after that long and that many times of me rubbing my eyes and thinking that I should've been in bed hours ago, I would've been more worried that it was never going to come off!)  For the most part, the colors are basic and perfect for the daytime, like Bondage, a shimmering ivory champagne, and Bedroom Eyes, a shimmering taupe.  There is, however, a shade called I'm Guilty that's a gorgeous shimmering teal blue.  It's going to need to be mine because I feel like it'll look great for a night out - maybe layered with Bondage?  (Ha!  I think that's the first time anyone has ever used the phrase "layered with Bondage."  My parents would be so proud!)

Denim Days

Listen, I'm all for cross campaigns with makeup. In fact, I think there should be more of them. Imagine the possibilities - Stila and Starbucks. Hard Candy and Hershey's. Urban Decay and Jiffy Lube. But for some reason, I'm just not feeling the whole The Quickie Chronicles - The Miss Sixty Girl from Too Faced. It's very possible that this stems from the fact that approximately 1% of the population can fit into Miss Sixty jeans. Seriously, they rival Frankie B's as the denim most likely to fit a nine year-old. If you have any sort of hips, you might as well not even try putting them on. So maybe that's where my dislike comes from. Because I have to admit, as Quickie Chronicles go, this one is kind of cute. It has four eyeshadows, two eyeliners, a blush and four lip glosses, which is more than they usually contain, so right off the bat, that's good. And it's a pretty sweet deal at $28, when you can just throw it in your bag and have a complete makeup kit to go. I just kind of wish they'd went with one of my favorite denim companies instead, or at the very least, a denim company anyone I knew actually could fit in. I nominate Citizens of Humanity - I think they would make a perfect Quickie Chronicles. Or maybe True Religion's. Or even Joe's. See, there were tons of better choices. Now who wants to tell Sephora they picked the wrong one?
