Another new MAC collection, Stylishly Yours, is basically the opposite of Cham Pale.  It's all bright shades, passionate pinks and raging reds, designed to make you stand out in a crowd.  (It'd be fun to mix products from the two collections and see what kind of looks you could come up with).  I'm dying to get my hands on the Cream Colour Bases and some of the Pigments, but I'm also going to be on the lookout for the New Hue Zoom Lash shade (how pretty does Blackened Burgundy sound?)  Here's what you'll find in the full collection:

Peacocky

Cham Pale

Releasing just after Christmas on December 26th, Cham Pale is another big collection from MAC.  (I know what I'll be using all my holiday gift cards on!)  It's perfect for those days when you want to look put together, but not have your makeup stand out by wearing bright or bold shades.  I haven't seen this collection in person yet, but based on the descriptions online, here's what I'm coveting already:

• Eye Shadow X 4 - Caviar Dreams - This is the palette pictured above.  How soft and shimmery are those shades?  So, so pretty.  They'd actually be perfect today on (yet another) rainy day in Los Angeles.
• Nail Lacquers in Soiree and Very Important Platinum - Soiree is a sparkly light bronze gold and Very Important Platinum is a dirty platinum frost.  They sound very pedicure worthy!

 

• Special Reserve Highlight Powders in Chez Chez Lame and Rose Ole - Nobody does highlight powders like MAC and these two sound delightful - Chez Chez Lame is a soft gold with silver shimmer and Rose Ole is a soft pink with gold shimmer.  I can't wait to see these in person.

 

• Paint Pots - I love Paint Pots and these sound so pretty.  I can't decide which one I want the most out of the four in the collection - Chilled on Ice (a frosted white gold), Let Me Pop (a frosted light copper), Vintage Selection (a frosted dirty peach) or Dangerous Cuvee (a frosted cool grey).  If I can't decide, that means I should buy all four of them, right?

 

• I'm not so much into the light lip products because they kind of make me look like a corpse (sexy!) but for those of you who are, there are four pale lipsticks and four Lipgelees to choose from.    

Cham Pale also includes a premium skincare collection that I can't wait to get my hands on.  There are four items in it - Fix+ Lavender, Complete Comfort Creme, Lip Conditioner SFP 15 + Lavender, and a Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 + Lavender in Calm Mode (a light neutral beige).  I really want to try the Complete Comfort Creme because my skin is so damn dry at the moment, for some reason.  Maybe that'll help!

Pink 4 Friday

Hip-hop diva Nicki Minaj has partnered with MAC to design a limited-edition lipstick, Pink Friday, that celebrates the release of her debut album.  (Don't you wish we could all get that opportunity when we accomplished something in our own lives?  Like, I'd be much more motivated to clean the bathroom or finish all my laundry if I knew I could design a MAC lipstick afterwards.  Hell, I might even drag myself to the gym for it!) 

Nicki's lipstick is a bright, creamy pink satin formula and the exclusive shade will only be available to buy only on four different Fridays and only at maccosmetics.com.  (One of them has already passed, but I was too busy recovering from my Thanksgiving gluttony to check my email and didn't see this info until the weekend).  If you're dying to get your hands on it, make sure to mark December 3, December 10, or December 17 on your calendar because after that, you'll probably end up paying triple the price on eBay.  Happy Pink Friday!

Venomous Villains Is Here!

Venomous Villains is finally here!  I swear, this collection had such a buildup, I was pretty sure it was never going to come.  (Like Christmas when you're a little kid!)  But finally, finally it's here.  First of all, the packaging is so adorable.  The four villains, Cruella De Vil, Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier, adorn their collections, making the outside of the colors almost as fun as the shades inside.  (It's packaging like this that just makes me want to store the makeup in my closet and never use it to keep it all perfect forever).  It's a huge collection, so you're bound to find at least one villain who strikes your fancy, although if you're like me, you're probably going to covet it all.  

I got a chance to see it all this weekend and here are the products that I found myself coveting the most:

Cruella De Vil:

• De-Vil Eye Shadow - This rich copper shade is unlike anything already in my makeup stash.
• Heartless - No one can ever have enough red lipsticks and this cherry red shape is perfect for fall.
• Wicked Ways Lipglass - This light nude with gold pearl shade is a great neutral. 
• Her Own Devices Beauty Powder - You can never go wrong with a MAC Beauty Powder.

Evil Queen:

• Vile Violet Eye Shadow - This matte deep dirty blue purple shadow is so fun.
• Toxic Tale Lipstick - I don't know how often I'll wear this bright coral shade, but I kind of need to have it anyway.
• Bite of an Apple Powder Blush - A soft coral pink, this one's going to sell out fast (it's already gone online!)
• Hot House Lipglass - It's a deep raspberry with pink pearl - enough said.

Maleficent:

• My Dark Magic and She Who Dares Mineralize Eye Shadow Duos - These are so, so gorgeous that I think everyone needs to own both of them.  The deep blues, greens, purples and pinks are just so amazing all swirled together.  I want backups of these for whenever I run out.
• Wrong Spell Lipstick - This deep plum shade is so chic for the cooler weather.
• Bad Fairy, Formidable!, and Mean & Green Nail Lacquers - Trust me, when you see these in person, you're going to want all three.  They have this multi-changing pearl effect to them that's so unique and eye-catching.  I know what I'm bringing to my next mani/pedi!

Dr. Facilier:

• Magically Cool Liquid Powder in Cajun - This powder goes on feeling like a liquid, then turns into a powder.  It's worth the money just for the cool effect, the actual shimmery powder is almost just a bonus.
• French Quarter Greasepaint Stick - I'm obsessed with the Greasepaint Sticks and this one is a dirty black green with multi-colour pearl.  Love it!
• Push the Edge Pigment - A bright pearly purple.  I can't get enough of purple this season.

Venomous Villains is at MAC counters and on maccosmetics.com right now, but it's selling out fast (like, even faster than their collections normally sell out, I think) so definitely pick up the pieces you're coveting ASAP or you're going to be kicking yourself when it's all gone.  And no one wants that...

Longwear Lips

I think out of all things MAC, I probably own the most of their lip products.  Just because there are so many different varieties and also, I kind of have a lip product buying obsession.  I have this theory that that's because they're often cheaper than buying, say, an eye palette, and thus buying them fulfills both my need to shop and makes me feel like I'm saving money.  (I know this makes no sense, so just go with me on it).  MAC's new Pro Longwear Lipcremes ($16) are calling my name because they're available in some seriously pretty shades (I'm definitely going to need Extended Play, for starters) and last a long time - my two favorite attributes in a lipstick!  Here are all the shades you'll find at MAC counters now:

Fabulous Felines

I finally got a chance to play around with some of the products from MAC's eagerly anticipated Fabulous Felines collection.  I have sort of a love/hate relationships with collections this big and extensive - they're great because you can always find some stuff to fall in love with, but sometimes it's just a little overwhelming too (because I usually end up wanting way more than I can afford!) 

Fabulous Felines is divided into three different sections - Burmese Beauty, Palace Pedigreed, and Leopard Luxe.  Definitely my favorite products in the collection are the new Superslick Liquid Eye Liners.  Despite the fact that I am... challenged when it comes to being able to apply liquid liner, these colors are so fantastic that I'm going to make it my mission to become better at it so I can use them.  I'm also loving the Pigments - there are some fantastic shades that I think are going to be must-haves for me.  Antique Green (turquoise green with green pearl), Bloodline (Dark dirty browned purple) and Lithe (frosted warm nude with gold pearl) are the three I think I need to buy - they're just so unique and shimmery and pretty.  I'm trying to cut down on my lipstick purchases (because I have a ridiculous amount of them!) but I think I need to own Kittenish, a deep red berry.  Perfect for fall!

Nail Trend F/W '10

I've been way into nail polish lately (more so than usual) so MAC's new Nail Trend F/W '10 collection couldn't have come at a better time.  (I've seriously changed my manicure like, every four days recently, which probably isn't good for my nails, but whatever).  Here's what MAC has to say about the collection, which will be released on August 26th.  (It's already online at maccosmetics.com though, so if you just can't wait...) 

Mistress of the art of the sophisticated nail, Jin Soon was inspired this season by the sensual pleasures of the Forbidden City - colours taken from the sculptures, tiles, architecture, fabrics and decorative papers of Imperial China.  Jin synthesized this vision to arrive at a collection in exotic and ravishing combinations of blue, taupe, green, purple and, of course, lacquer red.  These hues are opaque and rich with pearl essences for a subtle dimension.  Six must-have shades will be sold with our top coat Overlacquer to finish off the manicured look.

• Earthly Harmony - Muted taupe with sophisticated copper shimmer

I so can't wait to see Earthly Harmony in person.  I'm all about the neutral shades with a funky twist right now and that one sounds gorgeous.  I can't wait to try it!   

MAC Goes Gaga

As a follow up to their successful Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga lipsticks, MAC has released two new Lipglass versions of the shades. 

  

Viva Glam Cyndi (on the left) is a mid-tone dirty coral and Viva Glam Gaga (on the right) is a light blue pink.  I find Gaga to be a tiny bit too light pink for me, but Cyndi is gorgeous.  I'll definitely get some use out of that tube. 

Both shades retail for $14.50 and will be released September 2nd.  They're only available for six months, so make sure you pick one up before they're all gone. 

Dare To Wear

I'm not one for the crazy bright shades of eye shadow, so I figured this collection totally wasn't going to appeal to me, but I found myself way impressed by the Lipglasses when I played with them on the counter.  They're really pigmented, which makes me so happy because my pet peeve with makeup (and especially lip products) is when you spend a lot of money on them and basically get the same amount of color that you would've gotten from a two dollar Chapstick.  It's happened to me so many times and it makes me angry every single time.  You definitely won't have the problem with the Dare to Wear Lipglasses.  I bought Gimme That! and it's super bright (but in a fun, funky way, not in a "I'm working the corner of 42nd and Broadway" kind of way).  Here's what's in the full collection:
