I have a ton of lip glosses, so it really takes a lot to impress me when a new one comes out. Plus, I haven't used many Givenchy products in the past, so I wasn't sure what to expect from their new Gloss Interdit Ultra-Shiny Color Plumping Effect. And then I tried a few shades. Now I want to own them all so I can line them up on my dresser and just look at the pretty, pretty colors every day. Love them! I tried out Velvet Purple and Indiscreet Beige and while they're both great, Velvet Purple is the shade I can't stop reaching for. It's described as a blackberry plum, but it's so much more than that. It's sheerer on my lips than in the tube, but it still gives them a ton of color and it has the most gorgeous shimmer to it. It looks fantastic with a smoky eye or even a purple eye (purple is THE shade for fall this year). I didn't notice much of a plumping effect, but the glosses do have the most fantastic scent. According to Sephora, it's made up of top notes of bergamot, litchi, and red fruit; middle notes of rose, jasmine, and lily of the valley; and base notes of sandalwood, vanilla, amber, and musk. I know that's hard to picture, but just know that it's one you're going to want to have on your lips. Another reason to buy them? The glosses are called Ultra-Shiny and they really are. You know how some glosses aren't, you know, glossy...? These shine from the minute you put them on until the minute you take them off. And with 15 different shades, you don't have to worry about running out of color options. (Although at $24.50 each, you might want to pace yourself at the checkout line a little). I'm dying to try a few more of the shades - I may have a hundred pink glosses, but I have a feeling Capricious Pink could slide into one of the top slots once I get my hands on it. Something to look forward to next paycheck...
