You know what's a really cool product that doesn't get much press? The nail polish remover jar. Speaking as a klutz (seriously, I can trip over absolutely anything, and you can usually tell what I ate for lunch because I've spilled it somewhere on my clothes) every time I used a bottle of nail polish remover, I was taking my stain free carpet's life into my hands. Not to mention my couch fabric, since I'm lazy and like to do my nails when I watch TV. Plus, there's the fact that using nail polish remover in a jar gets rid of the need for cotton balls. Think of the environment, people! If you're not going to quit wearing fur, the least you can do is save a little cotton every now and then. I've been using this Cutex jar from my local Long's - it's usually on sale for around $2.50 and it takes off at least a month's worth of manicures before I need to replace it. In fact, I just used it to take off the most hideous baby pink color that I accidentally asked for at a new nail place this weekend. My fingers looked like I dipped them in Pepto Bismol. It was not good, but luckily I had a brand new Cutex jar to erase my $20 mistake. I also find that when I use the jars, my nail polish comes off faster and better than when I take it off with remover on a cotton ball. I think it's from the sponge inside, but that's just a guess. (And you don't get all those little weird strands of cotton that stick to your fingers and have to be pulled off - another bonus!) Whoever decided to put nail polish remover into jars really doesn't get enough credit. I mean, they give out Nobel peace prizes, but no rewards for inventions like this? That's just a tragedy.
