Go Forth And Glow

I love skin care sets because they let you pair formulas that you already know are meant to work together and take some of the thinking out of your night time routine.  (I don't know about you, but when I'm about to crawl into bed, the last thing I want to do is think.  No thinking is my goal at night). Caudalie's Vinoperfect Glow & Go Set pairs their Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Beauty Elixir at an $18 savings compared to buying them separately.  (The set costs $79, as opposed to $97).  The Serum has this amazing fresh scent, almost... fruity, which I love.  It goes on light and blends into your skin easily, and over time, it helps to reduce existing dark spots (acne marks, scars, and skin damage) and gets rid of dullness and dryness.  I've been using it for about two weeks now and I don't really have any dark spots (*yet) so I can't comment on that part, but I really like how soft it makes my skin.  I use it in the morning before putting on my makeup and at night before moisturizer and it's an easy addition to my skin care routine that really feels like it's making a difference.  The Beauty Elixir is a toning mist with a fresh, uplifting scent (from the rosemary, astringent mint and rose essential oil) that wakes you up and gives you a little pick me up - I love the way it feels when I spritz it on.  You can use it to set your makeup and it also helps to tighten the appearance of your pores so your skin looks less dull and more flawless.  I like giving myself a little shot of it when I leave work to head out to be social - it refreshes my makeup and wakes me up a little. I'm a little obsessed with it.  Kinda want one in my car, purse, desk, nightstand...  Isn't finding a product you like that much the best?

Premier Cru - the Ultimate Eye Cream

I have always told myself that I need to use an eye cream daily, but I'll try it all gung-ho and then a week later I've completely dropped the habit (much like working out, actually).  I guess it's because I hadn't found an eye cream that I loved so much that I had to use it every single morning and night, until now.  Caudalie has released a new eye cream called Premier Cru and it's insanely awesome.  I mean, first of all it's super hydrating so my eyes actually look more refreshed, but it's a light cream so there's not that heavy feeling when you put it under the eyes.  In just a few weeks I have noticed a difference in the skin around my eyes and I couldn't be more thrilled!  It's definitely not cheap at $95.00 but it's so worth it.  I also am a huge fan of Caudalie's Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid which is great for sensitive skin like mine, makes my skin glow, and is so hydrating you only need a little to see a big difference.  The scent is also so refreshing (shockingly I don't smell any sunscreen even though it's SPF 15).  Again, not a cheap moisturizer (retails for $68.00) but I always find it easy to splurge on skincare because it's so important.  Caudalie is a superior skincare brand - no nasty, harsh chemicals and no animal testing or animal products.  Plus, if you order online before August 26 and enter the code SUMMER you get 20% off your entire order.  I'm placing an order in the other Safari window as I type this!

Teint Divin

I am usually not a fan of tinted moisturizers because they never actually give me any coverage at all (i.e. cover my redness), but I checked out Caudalie's Teint Divin and was thoroughly impressed.  This stuff is lightweight, has a slightly lemongrass scent which is refreshing and really gives my skin a healthy slightly-tanned glow!  I was especially surprised that the fair/medium tint makes me look "healthy" like I had been out in the sun for a bit, rather than orange at all (which most tints do to my pale face).  It's shocking, really, how bad tints usually look on my face.  So nice to find one that actually supports us pale folks nicely.  Oh, if your skin is on the dry side you may want to add your normal moisturizer with Teint Divin.  It's not that it's a drying product at all, just not moisturizing enough for those with really dry skin.

Vino isn't just for drinking

 

I am a huge fan of wine - it tastes good, it calms me after a long day, it makes boring people somewhat interesting and it can even be good for your heart.  Okay, that last bit would be if I only had a small glass, but as much as I'm a wine fan I'm also a fan of large wine glasses so I think I overdo the heart-healthy stuff.  Caudalie Paris has taken the amazingness of wine and bottled it into an awesome new moisturizer.  Vinosource Quenching Sorbet Creme is a pink gel which actually contains the molecules from the walls of wine yeast which have been harvested during the wine making process.  I have no clue how you would even start to get this stuff extracted from the wine barrels, but whatever it took for them to do it, I'm so glad they did.  This stuff is downright incredible!  It smells slightly sweet (may be the grape water?) and moisturizes so well I only used for two days before I saw a significant difference in my face.  It's actually a gel but has the richness of a cream which is so crazy to me.  Honestly, I've never used a gel that wasn't sticky, until now.  It doesn't contain parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, phtalate, colorings or animal ingredients so you can feel good slathering it on your face.  I love this so much, I'm not going to back to my regular face cream.  Wine, once again, has proven to be a great friend of mine.  Retails for $40.00.

If It's French, It's Gotta Be Worth It

I'll admit that I'm a bad judge of eye creams.  I mean, you can slather the stuff on day in and day out but how can you really tell if it's actually doing something to improve your skin or help prevent wrinkles?  I've come to the conclusion that there's really no way of telling, so as long as the delicate skin beneath my eyes is soft and moisturized, I assume I'm fighting the signs of aging.  Caudalie has a great contour cream for the eyes and lips that, while it's expensive, it really does make the skin around my eyes incredibly soft.  I haven't used it around my lips because I find something weird about that.  I know, I know, when I'm sixty I'll be saying "wow, I wish I had used cream for around my lips to prevent these wrinkles" but alas, it's just an extra beauty step I can't be bothered to take right now.  The cream is good for contact wearers, is scent free and a little goes a long way so it will last you a really long time.  It's even made with liquorice which makes me laugh because I picture them grinding some Twizzlers into it (I'm guessing that's not what they do).  Overall I like this cream and I would continue using it.  A real bonus for me is it doesn't make my eye area sticky.  There's something really nasty about sticky skin and lips (okay, okay, I get the sexual undertones here).
