I know I've said this here before, but for someone who spent years hating the beach (the sand, the saltwater that stings your eyes, the sunburns!) I love sea salt sprays. It's pretty much my goal on a daily basis to have beachy hair, but I have to admit, with really long hair, that wasn't the easiest thing to achieve. Which is annoying because I like to picture myself strolling into situations with a chill surfer vibe that just screams "Oh, am I late for the meeting? Sorry, the waves were just really great this morning." (In reality, I'm more, "I overslept and almost got in an accident on the way here and DEAR GOD, I NEED COFFEE!" but that's neither here nor there). So when I happened to cut seven inches off my hair right when Matrix sent me their Rock It Texture sea salt spray, the timing couldn't have been better. Shorter hair gets beachier better! My only question? Would it make my hair feel sticky and full of product? Because I've tried a ton (a ton!) of sea salt sprays and some of them (expensive ones even!) do nothing but weigh my hair down and make it stick together like I've somehow accidentally spritzed Elmer's glue onto my head. (Does that sound like a cute look? Because it is not. One of them basically gave me dreadlocks, which took like three days to get out. NOT BEACHY AT ALL). But good news, everyone! Rock It Texture doesn't do that at all. It's pretty damn great. It basically just gave my shorter hair a lot of lift and volume while helping bring out its natural wave without making it sticky or frozen in place like I was auditioning to be an extra in a Poison comeback video. I could still run my fingers through it and make it look how I wanted, just with plenty of extra wave and body. Kinda perfect, no? I'm really digging this green bottle and will use it all summer to give me the shorter, devil may care hair of my dreams. Maybe I'll even attempt surfing. (Spoiler alert - jellyfish scare me and this is never happening, but if it did, I would have great hair while I was doing it!)
