Enlighten Me

I have to admit, I haven't been the biggest fan of highlighters. Just because they seemed... hard to master and also, I'm not a huge fan of shimmering.  (Well, I LOVE the way models in highlighter ads look, but when I tried to do it myself in real life?  Not so much).  But then I got stuck at the mall for two and a half hours while my phone got worked on at the Apple Store, so I was forced (forced, I tell you!) to spend even more time in Sephora than usual. And since I'd just been in there for awhile a few days before that, I was really reaching for products to play around with, which led me to the highlighter display.  Which led me to Josie Maran's Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer.  Okay, this product is fabulous with a capital F.  I wasn't wearing any makeup since I'd gone to the mall straight from a run, but when I blended this all over my face, it made me all glowy WITHOUT a ton of shimmer.  (I mean, don't get wrong, it's definitely there, but when I think of bad shimmer I picture like, glitter pieces all over my face and this is nothing like that).  Basically, it just gave me a healthy glow and a little bit of color.  I fell instantly in love and had to have it. And then when I got it home, I tried mixing it in with my foundation and I fell even more in love (if possible).  Together they make my skin seem as close to flawless as it's ever going to look.  I wouldn't say it makes me look bronzed at all, but definitely a tad darker than my normal pasty white self too. Really, it's just one of those products that makes you look better with minimal to no effort, so sign me up!  (Also, it was only $26, which is a lot less than most of the other highlighters I played around with, so that made me love it even more).  I hadn't bought anything from Josie Maran in a long time, but this is really making me want to rediscover the brand.  Kind of like when I stay away from gelato for months because I'm on a diet, then have one tiny scoop and suddenly must EAT IT ALL. Yep, exactly like that.
