I am a lip balm junkie. It's kind of ridiculous the amount of money I've spent on them and realistically how many can I actually use? I have bins and bins. You name the brand and I own a lip balm from them. That said, I consider myself to be an expert on lip care. If you tell me what properties you want in your balm, I will, undoubtedly, have a suggestion for you. Of the hundreds I've tried and used my absolute fave is definitely pricey but oh-so-luxurious. GOLD Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm by Tatcha is definitely a splurge but one I'd make again and again. Contains Camellia Oil, known to be intensely hydrating, and Hadasei-3 Bioactive complex which is a proprietary anti-aging complex of Green Tea Complete DNA, Okinawa Red Algae and Japanese Rice Bran Extracts. Yes, it's a lot of fancy words, but I was stunned and just how amazingly hydrating it is. My lips have never looked or felt better. I've been using it religiously and my usually chapped lips are softer than they've ever been. Not only is this a lovely balm for moisture, but it's also so pretty on. It has a hand-laid 24-karat gold leaf which is over the top of the balm so when you take your finger to it, you get a bit of gold sheen to swipe on your lips, as well. So, so stunning! This balm is definitely one of those products where you feel it's almost too good for you because it's so amazing and the packaging is so pretty (it comes in a little drawer of adorableness). Something I really love about the Tatcha line in general is all their products are formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, DEA, TEA, urea and phthalates. It's not only a great product (looks and benefits) but it's great for you! Worth you pulling out your wallet for this one. Heck, it's the holiday season, maybe you treat yourself to a new, lovely balm. Retails for $36.00. You can find it at select Barney's New York locations, Sephora, com and tatcha.com.
