I definitely have way too many fragrances sitting on my dresser, but regardless of the fact that the majority of them are bound to go bad before I ever get the chance to empty their bottles, when I smell one that I love, I still feel the need to purchase it. I actually tried Bare Skin when it first came out months ago and became obsessed with it, but to me, it's just such a perfect summer scent that I waited until now to write about it here.
The description on Sephora's website calls it an "intoxicating blend of creamy sensuality, dreamy florals and sexy musks" and that sounds about right, although I have to admit that I don't smell the floral notes very much. To me, it just smells like the perfect mixture of sun, suntan lotion, and musk. It's a really sexy scent - I don't know why, but when I smell it, it seems like the kind of scent I would wear on my honeymoon in Hawaii or to a fabulous Malibu beach party. What I like about it is how distinctive it is and how much the scent lingers without being overpowering. Now that it's really warm outside, I find myself wanting to spritz it on constantly (both morning and night). I've kind of started to think about it as my signature scent, which is funny because I haven't had one of those in awhile (since the days when no one could separate me from my beloved bottle of Angel). Plus, there's a Body Cream for maximum layering potential, which is always a bonus for me in a scent. Bring on the bikinis! (Not really - I can't even remember the last time I willingly got into a bikini, but since the scent is perfect for an island paradise, I had to end this with that thought).
