In April 2005, stylists Amanda George and Neil Weisberg opened the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills. A favorite of celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum and Reese Witherspoon (whose hair I totally covet because no matter what length it is, it always looks good), the salon has gotten national attention and been featured in countless magazines and TV shows. Now Neil and Amanda have branched out and created their very own hair care collection, consisting of five signature products. I tested out the Everyday Cleanse and Everyday Moisture Conditioner, which are made for normal to dry hair. The first thing I noticed about them was that they smell great - both have orange blossom in them, so the scent is fruity and uplifting and it stayed in my hair for hours, which made me happy (it's the little things in life, especially when you're on the east coast and keep getting caught in some sort of crazy precipitation). The formula was great too - my hair was so soft and shiny, and I especially liked the conditioner, which left my hair completely knot free without weighing it down. I'm definitely regretting the fact that I had to leave my only half empty (and totally eco-friendly!) tubes in NJ, which doesn't happen to me all that much with shampoo/conditoners (usually I just grab another set from my closet and don't give it another thought). If I can't afford to go to the salon Reese visits, at least I can get my hair to look as close to hers as possible with the products she uses!
In addition to the shampoo and conditioner I tried, the line also includes the Intense Illuminating Shampoo and Intense Illuminating Conditioner (both for dry, dehydrated and color/chemical treated hair) and the Intense Repair Mask. I have a tube of the mask and can't wait to try it, but my hair is really healthy right now (that's what cutting off 9 inches will do!) so I want to wait until I can get the full moisturizing effect from it. Stay tuned!
