I had been on a hunt recently for shea butter and found a company online who carries exactly what I was looking for. Nature's Shea Butter has been in business since 1998 and carries every type of shea butter you could ever wish for. I tried the sample pack of scented shea butter and was pleasantly surprised. While I'm not fussed about all the scents (how could anyone love all the same fragrances, right?) I really like the Vanilla Ylang Ylang, Lavender Vanilla and the Unrefined Shea Butter (almost no scent). The shea butter is, as it should be in its true form, solid, so you need to allow your warm fingers to melt it a bit before you put some on. I have been using it on my cracked knuckles and am thrilled with the results - no stinging, no greasy after feel, just happily moisturized fingers at last. The scents do tend to smell strong when first applied, but they quickly settle into skin, leaving a lovely, subtle fragrance. This is a great option for someone who is looking for a true shea butter at a reasonable price. I highly recommend doing what I did - get one of their sample packs which are $8.00 with free shipping so you can test out scents before you invest in the bigger containers.

Shea Butter is an amazing product that is excellent for skin and body care. I have worked with shea butter producers in rural Africa from Mali to Southern Sudan in an effort to assist them in profiting from the production and sale of high quality shea butter. Unfortunately, shea butter trade is happening at the disadvantage of traditional processors and there is a lack of equitable trade. This can change! My nonprofit Shea Yeleen International, Inc. is working directly with women who produce this amazing product to help them achieve economic empowerment. Check us out and I am happy to send you samples. All profits support our mission and women in Africa.
