In the ridiculous heat of this past Los Angeles summer, there was only one thing (besides my air conditioner) that kept me sane - a constant supply of travel-sized Evian Skin Care Atomizers. This is truly a genius invention, once you get past the fact that you are essentially paying $5.50 for 1.7 ounces of water. (Someone once pointed out to me that Evian is the word naive spelled backwards. Coincidence? I have no idea, but it does make me laugh to picture some hairy, fat dude in his basement in Iowa "inventing" a French mineral water and becoming a billionaire off of it). These atomizers (which is really just a fancy way of saying spray bottles) are the perfect size to fit in your purse and are especially great for traveling. All you have to do is take it out whenever you get overheated and spritz your face for a great pick me up. It doesn't make your makeup run (as long as its waterproof), moisturizes your skin, and as a bonus, if you get dry mouth and you're not near a store, you can always aim it down your throat and spray yourself a sip. The instructions say to leave it on for a few minutes and then dab the water away, but I personally just let it soak in and it seems to do that pretty quickly. One word of warning - apparently, the containers are pressurized and can explode (EXPLODE!) if exposed to hot temperatures, so don't leave it in your car on a boiling day or you might find yourself on the evening news. I pretty much stop using this product during the winter because I just can't justify the price when I'm not using it to keep from passing out due to heatstroke, but during the summer, it's a must buy. After all, how many of your other beauty products can you say could possibly be used as a bomb if necessary? Not many, I hope.
