I'm not really one for the dark nail polishes. They always make me look like a little kid who got into her mother's nail polish stash and decided to play dress up. But a friend recently gave me a bottle of OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark and I really liked it. The OPI website describes it as "where midnight meets purple" and the picture makes it look that way too, but in person it was definitely more of a really, really dark, almost black color. I wasn't seeing much purple at all, at least on me. It did, however, look fantastic on my toes. Classic, yet not at all scary, which is what I was afraid of. I can't say how cute it would look on my fingers though - I haven't gotten brave enough to try that yet. I'm too worried it'll make me look like some scary goth girl that old people cross the street to get away from. I love it enough on my toes that I wore it for three straight pedicures though (a personal record!) before finally changing it last week, and that was only because I didn't take it to NJ with me. And now I have a bright red on my toes and I'm missing the Lincoln Park. Do you think this is a sad comment on my life, that I have this much time to think about nail polish? Nah....
