Whenever I go to a Sephora, the first thing I do is spritz on a perfume I don't own so I can test out a new fragrance while I walk around. It's sort of my Sephora ritual and I never mess with it. This week, I tried one called Vanilla Grapefruit by a company I'd never heard of, LAVANILA. I liked the smell a lot - it's a little fruity, a little clean, and not overpowering, so I went back to the display to investigate further. Turns out, the company had a really cool idea - they make all their fragrances using ingredients that are good for you. Every time you spray it on, your skin gets a shot of goji berry and kakadu plum, soothing willowherb, and hydrating olive leaf, which they say contains a dose of 30 essential vitamins and minerals and 19 amino acids. How cool is that? It's like getting a great product with the lucky bonus of healthy side effects. Usually the only thing I get when I buy perfume is poorer, so this is a nice change. Now if only they could make the same thing happen when I eat a cheeseburger...
