Heavenly Shaving Cream

Shaving my jungle-like legs is always a chore, and because of my ridiculously fast-growing hair, I feel like I'm shaving every damn day.  So, when I used the Trader Joe's Moisturizing Shave Cream in Honey Mango, I actually started to not mind my shaving routine as much.  This stuff is the greatest shaving product I have ever used.  Incredibly moisturizing, smells fabulous and is only three bucks - I am a fan for life (no more crappy canned shave gels for me).  My legs have never been so smooth and my underarms have never been so nick-free (don't ask, I'm an awful shaver).  Anyway, you must go to Trader Joe's and buy as many tubes as they have stocked!  They are comparible to Alba Botanicals Shave Creams, but they are actually more moisturizing and way cheaper.  I'm all about saving cash and not having to bandage my legs and underarms.  I guess I should slow down when I shave, but I just get so bored.

Refresh Yourself

I love Trader Joe's. During my unemployment, it's replaced the mall as my feel good place to shop because while I can't justify purchases at Bloomingdales, everyone's gotta eat, right? I'm slightly obsessed with their blue cheese roasted pecan dip and frozen pad thai and, of course, their peanut satay noodles. But I'd never looked at their beauty products until a couple weeks ago. The first two things that I bought were their Refresh citrus scented shampoo and conditoner. At $1.99 each, they were impossible to pass up, especially after sniffing them in the store and loving their orange/lemon smell. Unfortunately, I only got a 50% return on my investment (or I batted .500, whichever you prefer). I really like the shampoo - it smells great, cleans well and costs less than two bucks. Pretty much the perfect product, as far as I'm concerned. But the conditioner did nothing for me. Even though I used a lot of it, my hair was a knotty, tangled mess when I got out of the shower. I could barely get a comb through it without the strands breaking off. Totally not worth spending even a $1.99 for. The good news is that on a return trip to Trader Joe's, I discovered that the Refresh line also has a shower gel and a lotion. I haven't tried the lotion yet, but the shower gel is fantastic. Still only $1.99 (for a big bottle), it's light and fragrant and full of lather. So to sum up: shampoo, shower gel and pad thai = good, conditioner = bad.
