An Original Gets A Makeover

I am very excited about this.  Rose Salve, quite possibly the greatest lip balm ever made (and I don't say that lightly) is now available in two new flavors, Apple and Blueberry.  I seriously cannot wait to own them.  I don't even like blueberries and I'm willing to buy that flavor, which shows you just how crazy I am about this product.  (I've put the original on every single night before I go to bed for years and I never have chapped lips.  The stuff just works).  And how cute is the new packaging?  Granted, I'm a little sad to see the old packaging go away because there was just something so retro about it, but I can get behind these new, colorful tins, too.  (And I don't know if the new design is actually replacing the old one or if it's just in addition to it, so there's no need to get grumpy and nostalgic just yet).  Right now, lip products are Buy 2, Get 1 Free at Bath & Body Works, so you can get both the new flavors and a spare tin of the original for only $11.  I am so in.  

Holy Grail In A Tube

Is it weird that when I was just now playing around on Sephora's website and stumbled across the new Rosebud Salve IN A TUBE I gasped a little?  Because I've used Rosebud Salve for as long as I can remember and it's perfection on lips, but the only thing that ever kind of bugged me about it was that it comes in those little tins, which are great for portability, but sucky for application because you always end up with extra on your finger.  And I hate goopy extra product on my finger.  But now my favorite lip balm is finally, finally available in a tube container so I can bypass the goop entirely.  (And actually, the tube container is probably even more portable than the tins).  Plus, as always, it's totally affordable ($6 for .5 ounces) and a little goes a long way.  Not only do I put it on every night before I go to bed, but I always travel with it and have containers in pretty much every bag I own just in case, so this news really has me giddy.  I shall be making a pilgrimage to Sephora tomorrow morning to snap a few up.  I suggest you do the same.    

Minted Rose

Rosebud Salve is my favorite lip balm of all time. At any given moment, there's one in my purse, one in my bathroom and another one in my car, just in case. It's just perfect. It's moisturizing, it's shiny, there's no color, so you can put it over any lipstick, it's not expensive... I could go on, but you get the point. This year, Sephora has an exclusive new version of it called Minted Rose, available only at their stores or online. It's the same great balm, in the same cute old fashioned tin, but this one has a minty flavor to it. It's not as strong as a few of the other mint balms I've tried, but it's still an appealing flavor, especially compared to some of the horrible tasting ones out there. Plus, unlike other lip balms, you can also dab this on dry skin to soothe it, and apparently even on minor burns to relieve the sting. I'm happy to say I've never had to use it for that, but isn't it nice to know your lip balm can multi-task?
