I've been dying to try Revlon's new ColorBurst Lipgloss Lip Shines since I saw the new ad with Jessica Alba. She's wearing the gloss in the Hot Pink shade in it and it's just so bright and vibrant and I've been really wanting that exact shade for awhile now, so I was super excited to pick it up. Sadly, it was out of stock in every drugstore I went to (clearly, everyone else saw the ad and felt the same way!) so I had to put my search on hold. It was totally meant to be this weekend though because I walked into Rite Aid and not only did they have the Hot Pink shade, but Revlon was on sale for 40% off. (Don't you love it when that happens?) I've only been wearing the gloss for two days now, but here are my thoughts on it. I'm disappointed by the fact that the color isn't as bright as it is in the ad - I know she was probably wearing a lot of coats of it, so I seriously put on like, 6 coats and it still didn't get anywhere near as bright as on Jessica. However, the color that I did get is great. It's a really pretty pink that's perfect for summer - not too subdued, but definitely opaque enough that it was clear that I was wearing a pink gloss. (I have SUCH a pet peeve about lip products that aren't noticeable on and that isn't the case here at all). It's also fairly moisturizing and it wears about 2 hours or so on me before the color is almost completely gone. The only minus I could find is that it has a little bit of a weird, chemical smell on the wand, but oddly, I didn't notice it at all once it was on, so I really can't count that against it, since it never bugged me other than when I put it right to my nose and sniffed (which I don't normally do, but I wanted to know if it had a flavor to it). Overall, I'll definitely be picking up a few more shades of these - I want to try at least Papaya and Fire before the sale ends. At less than $8 (pre-discount!) they're totally worth it.
