Vanilla Indulgence

Okay, I know you're probably thinking - she's writing about bar soap?  Really?  There's nothing better to do than write about that?  Well, honestly, it has completely saved my winter-ravaged skin, so I feel like I need to give it some props.  Olay Body Ultra Moisture Vanilla Indulgence is absolutely a skin saver for me.  There I was in Target, scanning all the soap when I saw my good friend Olay had a bar soap with cute blue snowflakes on the packaging (I'm a sucker for cute packaging) so instead of my usual Olay bar soap (the one with shea butter), I threw the Vanilla Indulgence in my cart.  This stuff smells lovely (a very light vanilla aroma) and noticeably softens skin after only a few washes.  I really notice the difference on my hands, which have taken a horrible beating now that I am washing bottles all the time (thanks to my 7 month-old).  Now don't you think it was worth my time to mention soap?

Hydrate and Cleanse

I decided to try the Hydrate & Cleanse Micro-bead Cleansing Serum by Olay and I'm not fussed about it at all.  Olay claims that the cleanser will give back more to your skin than it takes away - i.e. supposedly giving so much hydration your skin will not feel dry.  Well, not so much.  My skin feels tighter than when I use other cleansers and the micro-beads are downright annoying and incredibly drying to my skin.  I guess they're supposed to be "hydration beads" but they really feel like little pieces of sand which is not comforting at all.  The cleanser smells nice, but really I don't need a nice smelling cleanser that dries out my skin and reminds me why I hate the beach.  Save your money.  Unless you like rubbing sandpaper against your face every morning and evening.

Ole for Olay!

I know that scrubbing my face is essential to keep my skin glowing, but I could never find a scrub that smelled good, was fun to use and was delicate enough to use everyday - until now.  Our good friend Olay has come out with a master of a scrub - The Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher.  This little badboy actually heats up on your skin to give you that extra fun scrub - and not the kind of "heating up" where you think your skin might actually melt off your face - oh, no, this amazing scrub just heats up enough to give you that comfortable heated-washcloth sensation, but with the added bonus of exfoliation.  Using micro crystals (aww, how cute!) and glycolic acid, this face scrub made my skin glow like never before.  And at 12.99 a tube (if you go to Target) how can you go wrong!  I know I've dropped a hell of a lot more on some fancy department store scrubs that are far inferior to this one.   Also, if you keep adding water to your face while you're scrubbing, it keeps heating up.  Man, I must've been over the sink for an hour tonight.  I hope there's a support group for people who scrub too much.  I feel like I need to admit I have a problem.
