I'm always up for some new nail polishes and the recently released Liquid Metal collection from Milani is bright and colorful - perfect for the summer. There are six shades in the collection:
- Melt With U
- Melt Down
- Hot Metal
- Molten Rock
- Melt In The Sun
- Metal Gear
Since I tend to gravitate towards the reds in collections, I decided to use Melt Down for my pedicure. It's a shimmery red shade, not super dark as reds go, but what I really like about it is the way the formula looks on. Milani says that the shades "shine like liquid and reflect & wear like metal," which is a nice way to say something that's kind of hard to explain. I think on my toes, the polish looks almost like a matte shade, but with shimmer to it. It's not flat at all like most mattes are and it definitely looks shiny (almost like I have a special top coat on). The other shades apply similarly - I tried a few of them on my fingers, but they were too bright for my personal taste on my hands (but all of them are perfect for a pedicure). I especially like Metal Gear, which is an orange-gold shade that shimmers delightfully. (This one is going on my toes as soon as I get around to self-tanning because I am way too pasty white now for it to look good on). The other great thing about the collection is the price - each shade is only $4.49, so there's no guilt involved if you buy them all. They're only available until July at CVS though, so don't dilly-dally or you'll be out of luck. (I've always wanted to use the words "dilly-dally" in a post. Mission accomplished!)
Note: Samples of these products were sent to me by a PR representative working with Milani
