I just picked up the rollerball version of Viva La Juicy and had to post because it's my favorite new scent. Amazingly sexy, but not overdone, and I am completely digging the compact version I can carry in my bag. Why don't all the scents come in the mini size?!
So I kind of love everything Juicy. Even though it's no longer the "It" company, I'm still loyal. (Partly because those damn Juicy suits were so expensive, I can't afford not to be, but whatever). I love their coats, their bags, their ADORABLE cashmere dresses that I spotted in Bloomie's the other day and briefly thought about shoplifting because they were $300... Just about the only thing they make that I don't love are the sweatpants that say "Juicy" across the butt because really, why? There are enough dirty old men out there already without giving them another reason to stare at your ass. So when I saw that Juicy came out with a perfume, I was kind of excited. I figured I would fall instantly in love, especially when the tester came in the most adorable packaging made to look like a little purse. Genius marketing. Whoever came up with that, I salute you! The only problem is, the packaging was my favorite part. Much as it pains me to say it, I hated the perfume. I can't even describe the smell - to me, it was like ripe oranges mixed with some sort of flower. Roses? Tulips? Who knows? I just know that it wasn't something I would willingly spray on ever again. According to Sephora, these are the notes it contains: Watermelon, Mandarin, Pink Passion Fruit, Marigold, Green Apple, Water Hyacinth, Crushed Leaves, Tuberose Absolute, Wild Rose, Princess Lily, Tuberose, Caramel Creme Brulee, Vanilla, Precious Woods, Patchouli. I think perhaps mixing Caramel Creme Brulee (a delicious dessert smell) and Patchouli (the scent of choice for dirty hippies) was a bad idea, but that's just me. Of course, we all know that perfumes are very subjective, so I may be the only one who feels this way, but as sad as it makes me - I do not love Juicy's perfume. I would still sell my soul for one of those cashmere dresses though.
