I'll always have a deep love for anything Juicy because back when Juicy suits were all the rage, I could not get enough of them. I mean, I had like, seven different sets of them and I wore them ALL THE TIME. (Don't judge - you know you did too! Remember how comfortable they were? Seriously. Best things ever). So I was super excited when I got the chance to try Juicy's two new fragrances - Juicy Couture Malibu and Couture La La Malibu. Both fragrances are meant to reflect the passion and personality of the California girl, which I love, and I think they do a great job of capturing the casual glamour of Los Angeles and translating it into two different scents. Juicy Couture Malibu is an interesting mix of fruity and floral - the top notes include watermelon, tangerine, black currant and green apple and the mid notes include wild rose, water lily, jasmine petals and frangipani. It's a really interesting combination - sort of fresh and flirty - and it's the kind of scent that you could wear during the day or out at night. Definitely a winner!
Couture La La Malibu is similar to Juicy Couture Malibu, but it's more of a fruity-sweet scent. With top notes of green apple, mandarin, red currant and guava and other notes including orange blossom, white musks and blond woods blended with pink sugar crystals, it just smells... delicious. It reminds me of a scent I would wear on a daytime date, sort of playful and fun. The thing I love about both these fragrances is that they really do remind me of something a California girl would wear. (Even one like myself, who hates the beach!) They're both just intriguing and whenever I take off the cap and sniff either one, I want to just keep sniffing. (So, you know, if you're trying to get a man's attention, you can't go wrong with either of these. I'm just saying...) Maybe it's time to drag my old Juicy suits out of the back of my closet and wear one of them to brunch one morning for old times' sake (with one of these scents too, of course). Sounds like a plan!
