I'm all about peels at the moment. (Well, good peels that work gently, not the kind that leave your skin red and flaky and looking like Samantha in that "Sex and the City" episode where she had to cover her entire face when she went outside to avoid scaring people). You won't have Samantha's problem when you use Juice Beauty's Green Apple Peel. It's an AHA enzyme peel that's infused with certified organic fruit juices and raw cane sugar and blended with 12% "real fruit" alpha hydroxy acids. It's a cinch to use - all you have to do is apply it to your clean skin, then leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. I've used it twice now - both times I felt a tingling sensation when it was on my face, but it wasn't painful at all (or even annoying, really). It has an clean smell to it - fresh and with a hint of apple (hence the name) so it's not harsh on your nose like some peels can be. Both times after I rinsed it off, my skin was redder than usual, but that disappeared in about an hour and for the next few days, my skin was softer than usual and I definitely noticed a glow to it. It just looked... better, for lack of a more technical term. (And I love better!) I haven't used it long enough to see any long-term effects, but people on Sephora's website seem to be raving about theirs and I'll definitely keep using it to get my own, especially since it's seriously the easiest peel I've ever owned. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a simple, at home facial that'll leave your skin fresh and glowing. (And you'll get a ton of uses out of the $45 jar, so you'll wind up saving money over paying for the spa version, too). So worth it!

I'm very much a person who tends to turn away when people tell me something is good for me. I don't know if it's because I adore things that are terrible for me (donuts, avoiding the gym, excessive wine drinking), but whatever it is, I tend to just shrug when someone says "oh, it's organic, you should eat it - it's good for you." Well, healthy people of the world will be thrilled to know I have caved and am loving an organic product. You heard me right - I've turned a corner. Someone call Oprah because she could host a whole show on me. Green Apple Moisturizer SPF 15 by Juice Beauty is my new go-to moisturizer for truly glowing and happy skin. While this product is meant for mature/oily/combination skin, it really works fantastic on my sensitive, combo skin. Certified organic, this chemical-free full spectrum sun protector brightens my face with hydroxy acids. After only a few days of using this moisturizer, my skin looks healthier and well-hydrated. As if this wasn't enough, I love the smell of this stuff - I get to inhale yummy green apple every morning (yeah, I'm not going to eat green apples because, well, that would just be too healthy). At $38.00, this pump moisturizer (yay, no dipping my dirty fingers in a tub) is plastic and therefore is travel-proof. Now I suppose I should try yoga or something. Yeah, right, that'll happen.
This is such a weird time for juice. I mean you've got people saying "Oh, there's too much sugar in it, you shouldn't drink it." Then you've got the other side, "There are so many important vitamins and minerals, of course you should drink juice." Whatever your feelings are about drinking it, you will fall instantly and passionately in love with products made from juice that you use on your face. I know I did. I had never tried anything by Juice Beauty but I was always curious (so much magazine press and then the shelves filled at Sephora calling my name). I finally tried their Cleansing Milk and it is one of the best cleansers I have ever used (and, wow, I've used a lot). First off, it's 95% organic. I never buy organic stuff at the grocery store because it's more expensive (whatever, I just can't be bothered) but I love that I have organic ingredients in my face cleanser. The cleanser is very creamy (especially great for dry skin like mine) and has a wonderfully fruity smell to it. It actually helps to hydrate my normally tight skin and I was impressed that within only one week of using my skin is actually softer and there are no more flakes around my nose. It comes in a very convenient pump bottle and for only $22.00 it's seriously a bargain (I only have to use one pump in the morning and one at night). Now that I'm hooked, I'm like a juice-addict. I'll be making more trips to the mall to get my fix. They have a green apple enzyme mask I'm coveting right now. You know I'll cave and get it, I always do.
