If you're anything like me, you've spent countless dollars and wasted numerous days trying to find the best self-tanner. The first one is too streaky. The next one smells too funny. The one after that turns the skin too orange. All begins to sound a bit Goldilocks, really. After weeks of applying and
re-applying different self-tanners to my legs, the results are in. I have found the one that works the best. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer has a pleasant scent, sinks right into your skin and left my legs with a happy no-streak tint. Fabulous. It's very easy to apply and since it just has a small amount of self-tanner in it you really can't screw it up. You will have to be patient, however, because I didn't start to see results for three days. Also, since it's not tinted at all make sure you don't go hog wild on the top of your feet and on your knees. I made that rookie mistake and now the tops of my feet just look dirty. My stupidity aside, you will be happy with this self-tanner because you won't have to take out a loan to purchase it and you really control the results. Once you get the glow you like, you stop. (Are you listening to me? If you don't stop, you will go into freaky cartoon territory.) The results last a few days and then you can just start re-applying again. So simple. If you're wondering how the others ranked: my second place runner-up is Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Radiance. The smell is fantastic (I'm guessing because DHA is listed last?) and it's very moisturizing. However, the color is REALLY subtle. So subtle, in fact, that after a week of use I could only notice a slight difference, or it could've just been my eyes adjusting from staring too long at my pale legs. Either way,I'm going to take it for another go-round and try for two weeks to see what happens. Third place goes to Vaseline Healthy Body Glow - the color was pretty good but the lotion is very greasy and if you even use it one day past your perfect shade, you will turn orange, orange, orange. Also, when it started to fade it went a bit blotchy on me. Now sure how that could happen, really. And last place went to Dove Energy Glow With Subtle Self-Tanners because it was terribly streaky and very orange - not any qualities I'm looking for in a self-tanner. Now if I wasn't such a damn chicken, I would test out the facial self-tanners -but, I feel like my cousin might get upset if her matron of honor turns up to her wedding all orange-faced and blotchy.
