I always use a serum morning and night under my moisturizer. I have for as long as I can remember, ever since reading about them in a magazine. (See, Mom - there was an upside to all of those magazines I subscribed to!) I just think they do so many good things for your skin that other products don't. My latest serum obsession is HydroPeptide's Power Serum. It blends six (SIX!) different peptides that help fight the visual signs of aging. (And let's face it, that's what we're all trying to do). Here's the official word on what they are and what they do - "Genetic growth factors optimize cell renewal to increase firmness and elasticity as vitamin A diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. Glycerin delivers lightweight hydration which helps hyaluronic acid plump the skin with illuminating moisture. Oat proteins reduce inflammation to leave your skin looking smooth and youthful." It helps to stop fine lines and wrinkles from forming, which is like, the number one reason I use a serum. (Your mileage may vary). I've been using this one for a few weeks now and while I can't vouch for its results over a longer sample period, what I've seen so far is really encouraging. My skin is super soft and glowy and I'm definitely not "gaining" wrinkles. I also like that it doesn't have an overpowering smell. Products with that are the worst, right? Overall, I'm really digging it so far and I'm looking forward to seeing how it makes my skin look after I've gone through the entire bottle. (Which luckily will take a long time, since it's fairly expensive at $136. But good serums usually are because of the fancy ingredients, so that's not unexpected). If you're looking for a great serum to fight aging with everything you've got, check this one out!
