My hands have been super, super dry lately (holiday visit to the east coast - I blame you!) so I've been trying various hand creams that I have lying around my condo. And then last week I was at CVS and Aquaphor was on sale and well, you know where that's leading. I'm so glad I bought it instead of, you know, sticking to one of the fifty varieties I still had at home though because this stuff is awesome. Technically, it's called Aquaphor Healing Ointment and its almost more of a... salve (for lack of a better word) than a cream, but it's not greasy at all and it absorbs into my hands quickly, so it has all the best traits of a good hand cream without any of the annoying things I usually hate about salves. And it really, really works. My hands are definitely much smoother and less cracked than they were when I got back to Los Angeles, and my red and irritated knuckles are a thing of the past. Plus, it was less than $10, so it was pretty much a win all around. I'm going to have to stock up and go buy one for the car, one for the office, one in case of an emergency... You know, just cover all my hand cream bases. I'll just pretend my credit card doesn't exist and go for it!
