So here's the deal - I'm pretty obsessed with being tan during the summer months (which in L.A. is like, everything but January and February). I love not being pale and pasty white, but the catch is that I don't ever lay out in the sun or do it the natural way because I don't want to end up all wrinkly (or worse). So I've tested A LOT of self tanners in my life. One of my recent favorites is GlowFusion Micro-Nutrient Face & Body Natural Protein Tan. There are lots of things to like about this spray - it's super easy to apply (just spritz and go), it doesn't smell nearly as strong as every other self tanner I've used (but it does still smell a little - I think that's inevitable), it dries almost instantly - way, way faster than any other self tanner I've tried, and so far, every time I've used it, it's given my face the perfect golden glow. (I seriously love the way it makes my face look - all bronzed and glowy, like I just spent a week in the Caribbean). So with all those pluses, why am I not telling you to run out and buy one immediately? Two things - it's super expensive ($58 for a 5 ounce bottle!) and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get my body to come out as streak free as my face. It's totally possible that it's my fault and I'm doing something wrong because like I said, my face=perfection, but every time I spray it on my legs, they end up streaky. It's really weird. So that and the price tag make me a little wary of giving it holy grail status. But that being said, I will definitely keep this bottle handy and use it on my face every week, which actually somewhat justifies the price tag because that's usually my hardest area to be satisfied with and it'll last forever if I'm only using it for that. (Oh, and also, for those of you who hate the self tanners that stain your clothes and/or sheets - this one is fantastic for that - it didn't rub off on anything I own and my ivory sheets are still ivory. That's a big plus for me). If you have a little cash to thrown down and want to try out some self tanners so you're not the color of the Pillsbury Dough Boy on your first visit to the beach this summer, it's definitely worth checking out. (I just realized that the Pillsbury Dough Boy is a very weird reference to use in this scenario, but it makes me laugh to picture the character dressed in a speedo running down the beach in slow motion a la "Baywatch" so I'm just going to leave it. Enjoy the visual!)
