Your Very Own Magic Wand

28magicwandI don't know why, but lately I have these dark circles under my eyes.  Which is really annoying because the rest of my skin looks pretty good (if I do say so myself), so I think they stand out even more than they normally would.  Luckily, I have my trusty Magic Wand from FACE Stockholm to help me out.  This shiny silver wand with a brush applicator is easily portable for midday touch ups, and I like the fact that the product is dispensed by pushing a button - I find that I waste less product that way.  (Well, sometimes I get a little click-happy, but I figure that's not the Magic Wand's fault).  As a concealer, this product works wonders.  It contains Purified Water and Lecithin, so it protects and moisturizes as it gets rid of blemishes, dark circles and anything else you'd like to hide from view.  The consistency is great too - it blends in easily, but never looks heavy or cake-like (my pet peeve in a concealer - what's the point of trying to hide something if the makeup is going to draw just as much attention to it?)  I've never tried the uber-popular Touche Éclat from Yves Saint Laurent, but from what I've heard, I feel like this is a very similar product.  At $30, it's not the cheapest concealer around, but how can you put a price on knowing that the cute boy in your office can't see the zit that's taking over your chin when you run into him at work?   See?  When you think of it that way, it's worth every penny.

Black Glitter

Oh, FACE Stockholm, how I love thee.  I have been using their liquid eyeliner in Black Glitter and am beyond smitten.  This pocket-size liquid eyeliner is incredibly easy to apply with its precise brush and leaves a beautifully straight line that is virtually smudgeproof.  I was impressed with how quickly it dried and how easy it was for me, a liquid eyeliner virgin, to 19liquideyeliner create a perfect line.  It comes in four magnificent colors, but the Black Glitter (my fave) leaves a very sexy silver sheen to it - perfect for day or night.  The eyeliner lasts all day long, even through mid-afternoon eye rubbing, and comes off easily with eye makeup remover at the end of the day. I always thought I would hate liquid eyeliner and FACE Stockholm has taught me to not be so quick to judge.  Thank you, FACE Stockholm, for teaching me a lesson.

Out Of This Galaxy

When I was a tween (we did not even use that term when I was actually one, so that goes to show how Eyesgalaxy long ago it was) I loved nothing more than getting those huge makeup kits from Wal-mart.  You know, the one with about a hundred bright eye shadows that were all sparkly and you really had no freakin' clue how to apply them, so you'd swipe them all the way from lashline to brow, grab your denim purse, put on your denim jacket, and off to school you went.  Not that I would ever spend the money on the huge box of shadows from Wal-Mart, but I really do long for the days of the fun, sparkly colors.  Well, I have found my answer - perfect for someone who wants to tap into their inner tween, but doesn't want to sacrifice quality.  FACE Stockholm Galaxy is a wonderfully fun and easy to use line of loose glitters.  The 27 bright colors come in pots and you become the artist, applying to eyes, cheeks, body - wherever you want some dazzle.  I, myself, am loving Tjugofyra (say that five times fast) which is a hot pink glitter that has a lovely iridescent shine when the light hits it just right.  It looks fabulous on eyes and is really fun if you mix some in your hair cream before you head out at night.  But a definite word of caution, do not overdo it.  Since it's loose glitter, it is very easy to have a heavy hand and bam! - you're a human disco ball.  It also does have a tendency to travel down the face when applying, so definitely do your foundation last  The colors are vibrant, incredibly well-priced (the pot will last forever), and the glitter lasts all day.  A word to the wise, if you want to keep that office romance a secret, do not apply Galaxy and have a makeout session, because your romp in the storage closet will be revealed on his face.  Actually, let me up that, if you're going to have an office romance, at least make him spring for a night at the Four Seasons.
