Fabulously Affordable Face Powder

I have raved and raved about DHC (hmm, I wonder if I sound like a broken record) and this post will be no different.  I have been using their Q10 Face Powder which is wonderful.  I am currently using the Pink one on a daily basis and am thrilled with the results.  It has a slight shimmer to it (not stripper glittery, but subtle and sophisticated) and really helps my make-up to stay put throughout the day (and looks fabulous at night on my decolletage).  I did some research (wow, I use fancy words like "decolletage" AND do research) and Q10 has been known to have excellent antioxidant properties effectively conteracting free radical damage and preventing wrinkles.  Hey, that's not so bad to have in a face powder!  It comes in four shades (three are shimmer, Transparent 00 is matte) but all are reasonably priced at only $15.00 and come with a cute puff for application.  My only complaint is that I wish they had a thinner compact so I could tote the stuff around in my purse for daily touch-ups.  Geez, I'm so demanding about my products.

Sheets of Facial Soap!

I thought soap sheets were only for hands... until now.  I have discovered (drumroll please) a facial soap that comes in adorable, portable sheets!  (The audience goes wild with delight).  DHC makes facial soap sheets which are so surprisingly hydrating, you could use them as your everyday face cleanser.  Coenzyme Q10 Facial Film Soap comes in a pack of forty individually wrapped sheets that contain sodium hyaluronate (which helps to bind moisture), glycerin, collagen and the wonderful antioxidant coenzyme Q10.  I was amazed at how non-drying they were and how well they took off all my makeup (even mascara).  I love that the sheets are individually wrapped so there's no ick factor (no outside irritants can make their way onto the sheets) and they are absolutely perfect for travel because they are tiny.  And to make it even better, the sheets are well-priced ($9.50), so if you pull a Kris (leaving them behind in the hotel room) you're not going to cry and focus on it for a week solid (hmmm, do I have issues or what?)

Cutest Sunscreen Ever

Being that I'm the palest person ever to walk the Earth, sun care is super important to me.  I usually am forced to tote around an extra sunscreen because the staple SPF 15 in my moisturizer isn't enough for my delicate face (whatever, we can't all be perfectly tanned goddesses).  Enter Suncut Q10 SPF 30+ by DHC.  This stuff is awesome!  It is quite possibly the cutest little bottle I've ever seen - perfect for carrying around in my purse if I need to re-apply.  It sinks in immediately without the nasty afterfeel that some sunscreens can have and it actually is transparent (no weird white color to try and rub into my skin!)  Not only does it block UVA and UVB rays, but it actually contains olive oil so my dry skin is left nice and moisturized (usually not the case for me with sun products).  I think one of my absolute favorite things about this sunscreen is - no sunscreen smell!  I don't know how they did it, but they did.  Really an amazing product that I always have with me.  Hands down the best facial sunscreen I've ever used - and I've used a lot.  While it is a little pricey ($15.00 for 1 fl oz) it's worth every penny.  Bring on the sun!

Emulsify Me

Okay, if you can get past the extremely phallic shape of this bottle (giggle giggle) you will be pleasantly surprised with its contents.  Infused with olive oil, the After Bath Hair Treatment Emulsion is a wonderful leave-in that actually gives your hair a wonderful smoothness and supposedly helps to prevent UV damage, split ends and color fading.  I can't speak to the split ends or UV damage prevention, but I will say this stuff really did make my color last longer than usual and made my blowouts look more volumous than before.  It won't work as a true leave-in conditioner, but it's not meant to, so I can't say that's a negative.  What they do promise is softer hair, which I noticed a huge difference in my usually dry hair.  And at $12.00, this stuff is reasonably priced.  Keep it on your bedside table and keep people guessing.

The Japanese Think Of Everything

Leave it to the Japanese to decide it’s a good idea to lather olive oil all over the face to dissolve makeup and impurities.  But the craziest part is the stuff doesn’t clog pores and won’t make you break out!  How the heck did they do that?  Of course the magic people who have the coolest cellphones years in advance of us, were able to accomplish this task.  I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been receiving the DHC Skincare catalog for years (you know, the weird one that you have no idea why you’re on their list but inside there are always some cool samples?)  Well, I finally gave in to the catalog and ordered their Deep Cleansing Oil.  I was so curious to see how my skin would react to this product that is literally olive oil, rosemary oil and vitamin E.  You squirt some in your hand and spread on dry skin.  Then rinse off.  While it really makes my skin soft, I was skeptical if it was actually removing makeup from my face.  So, I did what any self-respecting beauty junkie would do – I wrote on my hand in lipstick and put the Cleansing Oil to work.  And yes, it actually removes makeup.  Crazy!  While you don’t get the satisfaction of the lather, you will reap the benefits of lack of lather because your skin will actually be softer.  And I’ve been using the stuff for a week now and no breakouts, so can’t seem think it’s clogging my pores.  It’s a very small pump bottle for the price, but a little goes a long way, so it will probably last me a while.  They have some pretty interesting stuff on the website, so check it out.  Even more interesting is all the packaging is in Japanese so they include an English cheat-sheet so you know how to use all the stuff.  Oh, and with every order you get free samples.  I’m such a whore for free samples.
