I ran out of the facial cleanser I was using last week, so I went shopping in my closet (as I'm known to do from time to time because I have a ridiculous amount of products at my place). I honestly didn't even remember that I had a brand new tube of Checks and Balances from Origins, but I've never tried it before and always meant to, so I figured stumbling on it was a sign that the time to make it happen was now. And after about a week of use, all I can think is, "How have I wasted this much time NOT using it?" Because it's seriously awesome. I use it with my Clarisonic at night and they're the perfect pair - Checks and Balances foams up even when you use it without the Clarisonic, but with it you get tons o' creamy lather that takes away all the makeup, dirt and grime from the day. And I love the way it leaves my skin feeling afterwards - soft and totally clean, not at all tight or dry like some cleansers do. It also smells amazing, which is a total bonus and (I admit) kind of unnecessary, but just makes me happy (it's a mixture of bergamot, spearmint and lavender, so imagine how pretty that is). It's also a pretty good value as higher end cleansers go, only $22 for five ounces. You don't have to use a lot every day, so it'll last you forever. It's pretty much my new favorite obsession at the moment and I can't believe I found it in my own closet. Note to self: shop at home more often!
