Just in time for a flight back east, I've discovered Cake's Satin Sugar All-Purpose Treatment Balm. My skin gets really dry when I'm on a plane so I always like to have a moisturizer with me, but with all the rules in place now, I'm never sure exactly what can and can't be in my purse. This fantastic pot o' goodness solves all my problems. It's a balm so it's pretty solid, but it's packed with 86% shea butter and 12% beeswax, so you know it's moisturizing. And you can use it for all sorts of things, like as a lip balm, on any dry or chapped skin (like your hands) or to smooth flyaway hairs and frizzy ends. (This means that instead of three separate bottles of carefully measured liquids that will inevitably spill into my bag, I can just throw this into my purse. More room for magazines and books and my iPod and Breathsavers and a notebook... Can you tell I'm not exactly a light traveler?) It absorbs into your skin without leaving behind a greasy feeling, which is key because the only thing I hate more than being wedged into a seat next to someone I don't know is being greasy on top of that. (I can directly trace this to the time I flew into Boston and the woman next to me spilled her ENTIRE soda on my new True Religion's and just kind of shrugged. I had to spend hours soaked in diet coke before I could get clean. I still hold a grudge). Also, the balm smells like lemon cookies and that makes any day (on an airplane or not) instantly better. Now if only my flight came with actual lemon cookies instead of one small bag of stale pretzels, I might actually be able to enjoy the trip...
The Satin Sugar All-Purpose Treatment Balm is available at CakeBeauty.com and retails for $24.
