Shimmer Like A Parisian

P40033_hero
I don't know if the people in Paris actually like to shimmer, but since they live in the City of Lights, I feel like they should. And if they do, I hope they sell these cute little Bourjois Multi Shimmer Loose Eye Shadows at the Sephora on the Champs d'Elysée because they're adorable. They're little pots of eyeshadow, but the thing that makes them stand out is that they come with their own brush inside, so you don't need any extra tools to get your eyes ready for a night out. It makes them the perfect shadow to throw in your bag in the morning if you know you're hitting up happy hour with your friends after work and won't have time to go home first. They come in a range of ten different colors so you're bound to find a shimmer that you like. I'm especially in love with the Illuminateur shade - a sparkly white that looks great as a highlighter. And they're only $16, so you won't feel guilty when you find yourself picking up a few of them. A girl has to have options, after all!

Parisian Fling

When I was a teenager and first started getting my nails done, I was obsessed with french manicures. Mainly because I liked the way it looked on the long, fake tips that I also thought looked tres chic (What can I say? It was NJ in the 90's. I should just be glad I never wore Z. Cavariccis). The problem with french manicures is that if your nails aren't all the exact same length, they can look kind of uneven, so once I went away to college and had to rely on my own nails, I gave them up, never to see white tips on my fingers again. But when I was browsing in Sephora this past weekend, I saw the cutest little french manicure set by Bourjois and it made me remember what I loved about the look - it's clean, classic and easy to maintain, especially if you own a set like this that comes complete with its own white polish. Of course, even with the genius idea of a curved brush that makes putting on the white polish easier, I still managed to make it look like a kindergartner did my nails for me. (Seriously, what's up with that? I've accomplished all sorts of things in my life, but painting my nails so they look nice has never been one of them). But now that I'm in the french manicure mindset, I'm definitely throwing these Boujois polishes in my bag so my manicurist can fix it later this week. You know, just in case I meet a handsome stranger and he asks me to go to Paris and explore The City of Lights with him. What? It could happen...

Ooh La La

It’s hard to remember at what point in my life I was expected to stop fingerpainting and start worryingSurvoltee_l about tax deductions and W-2s, but I really miss the simpler times.  Survolteel cream eyeshadow by Bourjois Paris, has allowed me to tap into my inner-child and create masterpieces every day on my eyelids, and I couldn’t be more thankful.  This waterproof cream eyeshadow goes on even and has a wonderfully cool shimmer to it.  While some of the colors are incredibly bright, the more muted beige and pink are really wearable for daytime.  They last all day, too, so no need to reapply.  However, being that the tubes are adorably small, they would be easy to take with you if needed for touch-ups.  I promise your fingers will be all a mess with shimmer shadow, but isn’t that what really makes fingerpainting the most fun?!  A true artist cannot concern herself with getting a little dirty, as long as she loves the final product.
