Buy Yourself A Lilac Rose

You guyyyyyssss - why must Bobbi Brown palettes be so expensive?  Because I am hard core coveting the new Lilac Rose Eye Palette, but I just cannot justify throwing down $60 for more eye shadows when I have about a thousand already.  (Seriously.  It's ridiculous how many palettes I've come across lately that I didn't even remember I had.  I could be a drag queen with all the smoky eye shades I've discovered in the last month.  I'd just have to come up with a catchy name and I'd be all set!)

So really, unless someone magically deposits some money in my bank account expressly marked "For eye shadow only," I'm not going to own the Lilac Rose palette anytime soon, but can we at least all agree that it's ridiculously pretty?  I love all eight shades and the fact that you can use it for both neutral daytime looks and nighttime glamour?  I'm such a fan of palettes that do double duty like that because I overpack enough, if two palettes can do the job of one, they're twice as fabulous.  Plus, the shadows have different finishes to them - everything from Shimmer Wash to Metallic - so you get a variety of those to play around with too.  (The Black Chocolate shade can even double as an eyeliner if you want it to).  I neeeeddddd this palette!    

Go Matte With Bobbi

Bobbi Brown has a new lipstick formula out called Creamy Matte Lip Color and I must get myself to a counter immediately to try it.  I love a good matte lip in the fall (for some reason, it just feels more cold weather appropriate) and according to the press materials, these are creamy and moisturizing, something that tends to be... lacking in matte lipsticks.  They also are apparently long-wearing (8 hours without disappearing) and if that's true, I need them ALL.  I think I'm going to pick up Red Carpet this weekend to try out because I'm dying for a good red matte shade for the holidays.  After all, it's almost party season again! 

Bobbie and Katie

Bobbi Brown announced this week that Katie Holmes would be their first-ever ceIebrity face.  I have to admit, I kinda love this pairing.  As a former (ahem) "Dawson's Creek" fan, it makes me happier than I should admit that Katie Holmes seems back to normal again.  Pacey and Joey 4ever!  (Also, how pretty is her hair in that shot?  Love it).  Here's the official release from Bobbi Brown:

The first iteration of the partnership will appear in spring 2013 print ads, light boxes, on-counter and with supporting editorial features.  Additionally, Bobbi will be the lead makeup artist at the Spring/Summer 2013 Holmes & Yang Fashion Show, the eponymous line founded by Katie Holmes and celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang.

I am totally digging Bobbi Brown's new color palette for Summer 2012.  These gorgeously bronz-y, golden-y products are super hot and I want everything.  I am especially obsessed with her stunning new shades offered in her awesome long-wear cream shadows - loving Candlelight and Nude Beach like crazy!

Listen To Your Heart

For the seventh year in a row, Bobbi Brown has sponsored The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2012 Fashion Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  This year, she even created an exclusive, limited-edition Heart Truth Palette to support The Heart Truth's efforts to raise awareness about women and heart disease.  (Such a great cause).  The palette has three shades of eye shadow that are designed to flatter everyone, two Lip Colors, and a Mini Lip Gloss and retails for only $25.  Definitely worth picking up both for the shades and for the cause they're supporting!  

Ultra Nude Is Ultra Nice

I'm all about the nude palettes right now (I'm waiting to get my hands on Urban Decay's Naked 2 until it's in store at Sephora and the wait is killing me!)  So in the meantime, I'm going to make myself happy with Bobbi Brown's new Ultra Nude Eye Palette.  Part of her new Neons and Nudes Collection, it's the perfect batch of shadows to pair with the bright lipsticks and glosses.  It's not what I usually do - I'm usually more focused on eyes than lips, so it's a really fun change for me and I love the idea of it for spring.  Plus, it's already on counters, so it's a simple drive to the mall to pick it up.  Done and done!           

Party Down

Wow, how badly am I coveting this new Party Shimmer Brick from Bobbi Brown?  So badly!  I love shimmer at the holidays (well, let's be honest, all year round) but I especially love how fun this one is. It has a cocktail shaker and a martini glass on it!  Whoever thought of that, kudos to you because you have made my favorite palette of the holiday so far.  I can't wait to pull this little gem out when I start getting ready for holiday events.  We were meant to be together!

Party At Bobbi's!

You guys, how insanely gorgeous is that Bobbi Brown palette above?  Love!  It's called the Black Ruby Sparkle Eye Palette and it's part of the new holiday collection that's already (already!) on counters.  The jewel tones are stunning and I love the purplish tone of shades.  (Perfect for my green eyes).  It's a little pricey at $45, but I feel like I would use it so much, it would definitely be worth it.  (Think of the smoky eyes I could have at holiday parties!)

And speaking of parties... I also fell in love with the Ultimate Party Collection.  Besides the fact that it has a great name that just makes me want to throw on a LBD and go out dancing, it also has eight matte, Metallic, Shimmer and Sparkle Eye Shadows plus four Glitter Lip Glosses.  Bobbi's Glitter Lip Glosses are the best and I love that I could just throw this palette in my bag and be able to come up with a ton of different, fun looks.

These are only two of the new offerings from Bobbi's holiday collection, but seriously, the rest of them are all totally covetable too.  I had to literally pry myself away from the counter because I was afraid I would just tell the women to throw a few in my bag and worry about my credit card bill later.

Celebrate In Style

I'm not normally a huge fan of lip palettes, but for this one, I'm making an exception.  In honor of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics' 20th anniversary, they're introducing this 20th Anniversary Lip Palette.  So gorgeous, right?  Here's the official info on it:

In 1991, discouraged by the lack of flattering lip colors that were available, Bobbi took to making her own.  She created ten lipstick shades that had a brown base, which was in her opinion the most natural complement to a woman’s skin tone.  After a small editorial mention in a magazine, Bobbi was soon
taking countless phone orders from her home and it wasn’t long before she caught the attention of Bergdorf Goodman, which ultimately launched her eponymous collection.  Bobbi hoped that she would sell 100 lipsticks in her first month at the store—and she ended up selling them in just one day.

Created in celebration of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics’ 20th anniversary, the Limited Edition 1991 Palette features the original ten lipsticks as well as ten NEW bright, modern and wearable colors that showcase how the brand has evolved in the past 20 years.  All the shades can be worn alone or mixed together to create your own unique shade. 

I am seriously, seriously coveting this palette.  At $60, it's a little hard to justify, but let's face it, in my product-addicted world, not that hard...  And think of how great it would be for when you travel?  It would take the place of 20 different lipsticks!  I think I need it in my life ASAP, so luckily it hits counters in October.  Get ready, debit card!
