Out of all the makeup I've acquired over the years, I probably have the most lipstick. I just can never buy enough of them. It's really shocking how easily I can justify picking up another one. Seriously. It usually goes something like this - "I really shouldn't spend any money on makeup today. And I definitely shouldn't buy that big eyeshadow palette. Okay, I'm leaving Sephora. Ooh, wait. Look at that gorgeous lipstick! And it's only $17. That's way less than the shadow palette was. I mean, $17 isn't really that much... And I don't have this exact shade, I don't think... Okay, sold!"
My new lipstick obsession for fall is Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. It's kind of a weird lipstick/gloss hybrid in the sense that it comes in a tube like a gloss, but once on, it looks like a lipstick. I tried out two very different shades - Beso, a true red, and Amore, a deep plum sheen. Beso is a fantastic shade for autumn - it's a bright, dark red that's easily a classic shade you'll reach for whenever you want to wear red. My only warning for this shade though is that once it's on, it's really on, so be careful when you apply it because it's really hard to fix if you go outside your lip line. But if you can get it on perfectly, it's a great color to wear out at night. Amore is a really pretty plum shade that I've been wearing with a purple smoky eye (I'm all about purple makeup for fall). It has a little bit of a shimmery finish to it too, which is fun. The best part about these is that they stay on for a long time before they fade away. On me, Beso stayed on through my whole work day (probably due partly to the fact that it's so bright, even when it faded, it was still very noticeable). They almost remind me a little of a lip stain, except they're not drying at all. All in all, a pretty perfect lip color!
