I'm totally digging Tarte's new TEN Limited Edition Collector's Palette ($44). Released in honor of their 10th birthday, it's a ton of fun to play with. The palette itself is super cute - it's a gold-studded purple, which immediately made me like it. (In fact, I kind of want a big, soft leather tote version of it. Someone get on making that). Inside, there are 10 full-size eyeshadows, all of which can be popped out and refilled. (Gorgeous and eco-friendly!) It's a really versatile palette - the shades range from light to dark and from matte to shimmer, so you can really create a ton of different looks from the shades. My favorites are the shimmering deep plum and the deep shimmering forest green. They're both so pretty, I totally want to play around with them every time I open the palette. They're not super pigmented, but you can build the color with more layers, and I actually kind of like the fact that on my fair skin (or more accurately, pasty white) they're not overwhelming. The palette also comes with a double-sided eyeliner (matte deep black and deep plum), a full-size eyeshadow brush, and a mini Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara. Don't you love when it's someone else's birthday and you get something out of it? How can we always make that happen?
